In Think Like a Monk, Jay Shetty talks about how true purpose is found in service, not success. This resonates deeply with me. I’ve often wondered why certain actions make us happier than others. For me, it’s always been about doing things for others. Whether it’s shopping for underprivileged kids or preparing course plans and assignments during COVID, the excitement I feel when giving is something I can’t quite explain. It’s like a spark that turns into pure joy.

Even when I travel now, I no longer just pick up keepsakes for myself—I find myself thinking of gifts for my loved ones, knowing it will make them smile. That small shift, from focusing on me to focusing on them, has brought so much more meaning to my experiences.

This, I realize, is part of my dharma, as Shetty puts it: finding purpose in serving others, and aligning actions with my deeper values. It’s not just about achieving personal milestones but about creating impact and happiness through acts of kindness, no matter how small.

I know we all have busy lives, but if I can ever do something for you—big or small—please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. Sometimes, the smallest gestures make the biggest difference.
